Svadisthana - I feel!

The Svadisthana, also known as the sacral chakra, is the second chakra in the seven-member chakra system. It is located just above Muladhara, about 4 cm below the navel. The word Swadisthana (Sanskrit: स्वाधिष्ठान) is Sanskrit and translates as residence, seat or apartment, but the word 'swad' also translates as enjoyment and pleasure. Svadisthana is the center of creative potential, sexuality, and pleasure. This corresponds to the affirmation I feel. It is associated with emotions and desires, and its primary urge is the pursuit of pleasure. It determines the way we experience our own bodies.

In addition to being responsible for creativity, that is, for what the individual offers to the world through art, Swadisthana also connects us with our deep intimacy and knowledge of the inner self. Svadisthana is ruled by the subconscious mind, associated with sensuality, self-acceptance, and intimacy. The inner world is divided into light and dark sides. Only when we take into account this dual reality and accept our weaknesses can we work on ourselves.

When working with Swadisthana, as with any other chakra, we need to be honest with ourselves, without judging, deceiving, embarrassing, or shifting the responsibility to another. To feel ourselves, love our body, accept our own passion, and be open to our highest joy. Our spiritual development will stagnate until we can take ourselves as we are.

At the physical level, Swadisthana activates the energy of the kidneys, bladder, lower digestive tract, sexual/reproductive organs, and lumbar plexus. In addition, it is connected to the gonads - gonads.

Kundalini shakti

For Kundalini Shakti to pass through Swadisthana, it must be open, balanced, and exalted with sublime feelings. If anger, hatred, jealousy, cruelty, desire, and pride prevail in Svadisthana, Kundalini returns to Muladhara. It can not proceed to the upper chakras, realize through them and reach the final goal, the Sahasrara (crown) chakra, to self-realization.

Attributes

Color - orange, element - water, seed mantra - YOU, animal - crocodile

The wedding chakra is presented as a six-leaf orange lotus. There is a representation of a new moon in the center. Orange is the color of the rising sun and symbolizes growing awareness. It is also associated with the sun's setting and the autumn season when nature recedes and consciousness turns inward towards itself. Corresponds to the mantra VAM. Does not connect to the water element. An appropriate representation in the sages is Buddhi Mudra (Varuna mudra), and a representative of the animal world is the crocodile. The ruling deities are Vishnu and the goddess Ragini. When we concentrate on the Svadisthana chakra, we can find answers to many essential questions.

When Swadisthana is out of balance

Blocked sacral energy can be associated with addictions, repressed emotions, and a lack of creative energy. Still, it can also be caused by a dull, repetitive, monotonous life or negative feedback related to our creativity or sexuality.

When Svadisthana is in imbalance, not only do we feel bored and lack creative energy, but we are also very easily offended, afraid of change, feel ashamed and guilty of some past actions, lack self-confidence, feel jealousy, need from overspending, sexual promiscuity, gambling problems, and frequent use of alcohol or drugs.

When it is in balance

When the sacral chakra is open and balanced, we feel dynamic, stimulated, and full of ideas. We are honest with ourselves and open to the environment. We can express ourselves creatively. We understand the differences between the sexes and can express our emotions freely. A relaxed and balanced Swaddhana gives us the determination to make significant changes in the way we live our lives.

Physical anomalies

Symptoms associated with a blocked sacral chakra include polycystic ovaries, irregular menstrual cycles, other reproductive problems, urinary tract infections, bladder and kidney complications, other abdominal problems, chronic lower back pain, and more...

Puberty

The dominance of Svadisthana is considered to be in the period from the eighth to the fourteenth year of life, immediately after the supremacy of the Muladhara chakra. This is the period when the first sympathies appear, we fall in love for the first time, and we start to experience sexuality. The menstrual cycle occurs in women.

Several ways to balance the sacral chakra

The wedding chakra connects our body and our mind with the element of water. Therefore, water-related activities are recommended to balance this chakra, such as swimming, water walks, a hot bath with essential oils, and the like. As it is a center of creativity, it is also recommended to balance it with painting, music, writing, and dance.

Meditation - sit in a comfortable sitting position with your back straight. The palms are on the knees in Varuna mudra. Relax the muscles and focus on the pelvis. Visualize a rippling ocean, under a dark sky, at night… Ocean waves represent the rising and falling of our consciousness. We can also do this by visualizing orange light in the area where Swadisthana is located.

Yoga asanas that stimulate Swadisthana include:

  • All the asanas for opening the hips.
  • The cobra (Bhujangasana).
  • The dance pose (Natarajasana).
  • The twisting triangle (Parivrtta trikonasana).
  • Others.

Food - orange foods such as oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes, peaches, apricots, mango, papaya, pumpkin, tangerines, coconut, various seeds such as flax, poppy, sesame, hemp, pumpkin, sunflower seeds, and walnuts are recommended.

Crystals that vibrate at the same frequency as the Swadisthana chakra are orange crystals such as moonstone, carnelian, golden topaz, aragonite, orange calcite, etc.
